Roof and Attic Insulation

Insulating your loft is a most effective ways to save energy

In many homes, even where insulation has been installed in the past, lofts are often damp, cold places, letting as much as 25% of your homes heat escape. You could save up to £145 a year on bills depending on your existing level of insulation and do your bit for the environment by saving around 1 tonne of CO2 per year*.

Effective for 40+ Years

In many homes, even where insulation has been installed in the past, lofts are often damp, cold places, letting as much as 25% of your homes heat escape. Loft insulation is an effective way to save energy and money at home – a well insulated house keeps warmth exactly where you need it – indoors. Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years, and it will pay for itself over and over again in that time. The better insulated your home, the less energy you need to keep it warm – the more money you’ll save in the long run.

Good for you. Good for the Environment

By saving energy, your household will produce less CO2. So, adding or topping up your loft insulation is a great way to do your bit – and reduce your impact on the environment. Below is a brief overview of the paybacks to be expected by simply increasing your loft insulation to the required amount. Today, the recommended depth for loft insulation is 300mm, however the vast majority of houses do not meet this standard. Contact Bayview Contracts today and we will complete a free, no obligation survey on your home to check if your loft insulation meets the required standards.

Your attic insulation is the first line of defence for heat loss

One simple and effective way to insulate your home is through expert attic insulation. On average a normal house will see a loss of up to 30% in energy through heat escaping via the roof. Your attic insulation is the first line of defence against this and acts as the barrier between the cold outside and the comforting warm inside. A correctly insulated attic can ensure that your heat loss is reduced dramatically allowing for a warmer more comfortable home. In many cases, the ideal and most effective depth of attic insulation is around 300mm and in order to ensure that your home is protected against heat loss of this nature, you need to regularly maintain your insulation. This level of work usually takes up to half a day and the homeowners don’t have to leave the premises.
